Empowering Futures

Education is the foundation upon which young minds build their dreams and aspirations. At The Skipton Academy, nurturing students' career aspirations and preparing them for the world of work is a top priority. This could not have been possible without the immense support and dedication of numerous organisations that have lent their expertise and time to enrich the Careers Programme. In this article, we express our heartfelt gratitude to all the organizations and individuals who played a vital role in shaping the futures of our students.

A Joint Effort to Mold Tomorrow's Leaders

The success of The Skipton Academy's Careers Programme owes its triumph to the collaborative efforts of some remarkable organisations.

Mock Interviews: Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry

Mock interviews serve as a bridge between academic knowledge and real-world experiences, enabling students to understand the practical aspects of their chosen career paths. Through these simulated interviews, our students gained valuable insights into the expectations and challenges of their desired professions. The organisations' representatives, through their constructive feedback and encouragement, instilled confidence and motivation in our students to pursue their dreams.

A special thanks to the following organisations who all supported the process: JN Bentley Ltd, Bradford University, Skipton Town Council, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, Harrogate College, Burnley College, Beyond.ly, Fortem People, AWB Charlesworth Law, Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, Armstrong Watson, ITVx and The Devonshire Arms Hotel and Spa have all been instrumental in supporting our Year 10 students' journey through mock interviews, a crucial component of the World of Work initiative.

Tayah Livesey: A Shining Inspiration

During this rewarding experience, The Skipton Academy had the privilege of hosting - Tayah Livesey, an alumnus who graduated from our school a decade ago. Tayah's journey since leaving the school has been nothing short of remarkable. Her achievements and success story stood as a powerful testament to the impact of quality education and a nurturing environment. Tayah's visit served as an inspiration to our current students, proving that with determination and dedication, one can conquer any obstacle and reach their full potential.

The Ripple Effect: Empowering Generations

The support and dedication of these organisations have a profound ripple effect that extends far beyond the boundaries of The Skipton Academy. By investing in the youth's education and career development, they contribute to building a strong and capable workforce, benefitting not only the students but also the entire community.

The Skipton Academy, along with its students and faculty, is deeply grateful to all the organisations and individuals who have wholeheartedly contributed to the success of our Careers Programme. Their involvement has empowered our students to envision brighter futures and embark on paths that will lead them to success and fulfilment.
