Students Make a Splash With Their Practice Expedition

Recently, students from The Skipton Academy in North Yorkshire have been hard at work, completing a practice expedition as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award. The students, in year 9, set off bright and early from the school on a mission to reach the nearby village of Gargrave, a 5-mile journey.

The expedition was a great success and the students were able to manage the distance without issue. Along the way, they encountered some excellent scenery and took the time to appreciate the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. The group also had to navigate some tricky terrain.

The expedition was designed to prepare the students for the upcoming Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an internationally-recognised program designed to develop young people's skills and confidence, and the expedition was a great way for the Skipton Academy students to test their abilities.

The students were delighted with the outcome of their practice expedition, and are looking forward to the upcoming Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
