Athletes Shine at Harrogate Finals

The Skipton Academy proudly showcased its athletic talent at the Harrogate and Craven Athletics Championships, where a team of 40 students competed with passion, determination, and school pride.

An incredible 32 students qualified for the finals, a testament to the hard work and commitment shown by both athletes and their coaches. Every competitor represented the school community with excellence, setting a strong example for others to follow.

Several outstanding performances stood out on the day:

  • Milly Charlton broke the school’s Year 10 Girls’ 100m record and was crowned Harrogate and Craven champion.

  • Maisie Battle set not one but two school records, excelling in hurdles and the Year 10 Girls’ 200m.

  • Connie Hudson secured a strong 2nd place in the Girls’ Shot Put.

  • Ollie Wright also finished 2nd in the Year 8 Boys’ Javelin.

  • Jessica Battle earned 3rd place in the Year 8 Girls’ 200m.

These remarkable achievements underline the dedication and talent of Skipton Academy’s athletes, as well as the encouragement and support from their coaches and peers.

The Academy is immensely proud of all the students who took part, both finalists and competitors alike. Their efforts have further strengthened the school’s sporting reputation, inspiring future athletes to aim high and chase their own records.
