Extra-Curricular Activities

We truly believe in a holistic approach to education, encouraging and inspiring all our students to explore a wide range of extra-curricular interests and helping them to develop their individuality, their way.

Our school ethos aims to produce individuals who are well-rounded and able to meet the challenges of life in the 21st century and feel strongly that personal development is greatly enhanced by the challenge of a wide-ranging extra-curricular programme across all sections of the school.

At The Skipton Academy we place huge importance on the opportunities that students receive outside of their normal timetabled lessons and the advantages that they provide. From developing essential life skills such as team-building, goal setting, public speaking, and leadership skills to higher self-esteem and a long-term commitment to a project, these opportunities are designed to enhance a young person’s time in school. We feel strongly that participation in these activities gives students the opportunity to develop interests that may influence their future careers or broaden their worldview. Whilst we hope that participation will enhance CVs and future university applications, we also have faith that our students will have fun and make new friends whilst enjoying their time at The Skipton Academy, leaving at the end of their years of study with a little extra to go with their outstanding academic attainment.

Please take a look at some of the clubs and activities on offer until the end of term and ask your child to contact either their tutor or the activity leader should they wish to sign up or simply find out more.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school should you have any queries or suggestions for future activities.

We are a school with a community ethos. If you would like to volunteer to help out with any of these activities or any other aspect of school life, please contact us at admin@theskiptonacademy.co.uk

All extra-curricular activities are subject to the government relaxing guidance around year group bubbles.
