Awards and Certificate Presentation Evening at The Skipton Academy

I was filled with pride and excitement yesterday evening as we gathered as an Academy to celebrate the academic success of our wonderful students past and present. 

Our best ever Awards Evening saw a huge crowd of parents, governors, staff and students come together to highlight the numerous achievements of the last twelve months. In a year that has seen the academy go from strength to strength - coming out of special measures, celebrating that with another inspirational video, a performance from The Royal Shakespeare Company, securing our future working relationship with Ilkley Grammar School and Moorlands Learning Trust to name but a few highlights it was truly inspirational to celebrate those things together as a community.

The highlight of the evening was a fantastic performance from the TSA Choir performing a medley from "The Greatest Showman" which will be performed on Sunday in Skipton at the turning on of the Christmas lights.

As an Academy we have developed the ethos of Belong Challenge Inspire and if one evening could have been said to deliver on all three then it was Awards Evening. The future looks even brighter for The Skipton Academy as our Partnership with Ilkley Grammar School continues to develop and assist in our progress to becoming a top quality comprehensive school for the community of Skipton.

Well done to all the staff and students who performed and to all our fantastic students who received prizes! I am certain that next years Awards Evening will be even better still and the plans for it have already begun!
