Book Day Gets Clever
To mark World Book Day in true Skipton style, students took part in a thrilling school-wide scavenger hunt designed to celebrate the joy of reading. Clues were hidden throughout the school, each linked to beloved books—from modern favourites to timeless classics. The objective? Solve every clue to reveal a secret word tied to the magic of literature.
The event turned our campus into a playground of puzzles and possibilities. Students had to think critically, work together, and draw on their knowledge of books and authors to progress. Laughter, excitement, and collaboration echoed through the corridors as teams raced to solve the riddles.
Beyond the fun, the activity helped reignite enthusiasm for reading. It was a reminder that books are more than just school assignments—they’re keys to imagination, empathy, and lifelong learning. A wide range of prizes were awarded to students who completed the challenge, recognising both accuracy and creative thinking.
Thanks to the dedicated staff who brought this literary adventure to life. The scavenger hunt didn’t just celebrate books—it made them feel alive, relevant, and accessible for everyone in our school.
