Cheer Star Heads to USA

A huge congratulations to Year 11 student Lana Priestley, who has achieved remarkable success in the world of competitive cheer and dance. Lana, who swapped football boots for pom-poms just a few years ago, has quickly become a rising star on the national stage. This weekend at the ICE Extravaganza in Leeds, she and her team claimed first place in both the Junior Jazz and Junior Pom categories.

The excitement didn’t stop there. Lana’s team also earned the prestigious Judges’ Choice Award, celebrating their outstanding performance, teamwork, and stage presence. This recognition is a testament to their commitment, discipline, and passion for the sport. The team’s energy and synchronisation were truly next-level.

Perhaps the most thrilling news of all is that Lana and her team have now secured a Bid to the All Star Worlds in Orlando, Florida. This international competition is one of the most esteemed events in the cheer and dance calendar, giving teams the chance to compete on a global stage. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and an enormous achievement.

What makes Lana’s story even more inspiring is how she balances her intensive training schedule with her GCSE studies. Her dedication, resilience, and time management skills are nothing short of extraordinary. We are so proud of her accomplishments and can’t wait to cheer her on as she prepares for Florida!
