Open Evening Success at The Skipton Academy
The Skipton Academy was delighted to welcome almost 1,000 visitors to its highly successful Open Evening, where families from across the local community explored the school’s fantastic facilities and met staff and students.
The event provided prospective students and their families with the opportunity to see the academy in action and experience first-hand the welcoming ethos of Belong, Challenge, Inspire. A particular highlight of the evening was the showcase of the school’s brand-new Music Block, a state-of-the-art facility designed to further enrich students’ creative learning experiences.
The smooth running of the evening was supported brilliantly by the school’s student tour guides, who welcomed visitors, shared their experiences, and provided an authentic insight into life at The Skipton Academy. The newly elected Head Students also played a central role, delivering inspiring speeches which reflected both their pride in the school and their ambitions for its future.
Principal, Mr Cook, said:
“We were thrilled to see so many families join us for our Open Evening. The atmosphere throughout the evening reflected the warmth of our community and the pride our students take in their school. With our excellent facilities, dedicated staff, and our students at the very heart of everything we do, it’s an incredibly exciting time to be part of The Skipton Academy.”
The Skipton Academy continues to go from strength to strength, with significant improvements in recent years reflected in the school’s popularity. The academy has been oversubscribed again this year, a clear sign of the growing demand from families who want their children to benefit from the school’s ambitious curriculum, supportive environment, and ever-expanding opportunities.
As applications open for the next academic year, The Skipton Academy looks forward to welcoming another intake of students ready to embrace the challenge and inspiration the school provides.
