Open Evening 2022 Success

The Skipton Academy opened its doors for its Open Evening this week as it welcomed prospective students, parents and carers where dozens of student leaders showed families around the school site. 

During the Open Evening, there was a range of exciting activities ranging from African drumming, bread making, controlling robots in ICT, a range of exciting science experiments and some short RSE warm-up exercises in drama. 

The academy welcomed its largest cohort of 126 students this academic year, a record intake following years of rising demand. Leaders commented that the school has not been as popular as this for a generation if not longer. It follows a positive set of GCSE results alongside significant capital investment to upgrade the school site.
