Rugby Day Sparks Pride

A group of lucky students recently travelled to the LNER Stadium in York to watch the England Women’s Rugby Team take on Italy in an exhilarating Six Nations fixture. For many, this was their first time witnessing international sport live, and the experience was both thrilling and inspiring from start to finish.

The atmosphere in the stadium was electric, with fans cheering loudly and proudly for England’s Red Roses. Students were in awe as they watched elite athletes demonstrate strength, strategy, and determination on the field. It was a celebration of sport and a shining example of the heights that dedication can reach.

The trip wasn’t just about watching a game—it was about opening students’ eyes to the growth of women’s sports and the endless opportunities available to them. For our young female athletes in particular, it was powerful to see role models competing at such a high level and making history in a sport that is growing rapidly in popularity.

A huge thank you goes to the staff who made this trip possible. It was a day full of excitement, empowerment, and pride, and one that will leave a lasting impression on our students.
