Inspire Magazine - Spring Term 2026

The March 2026 edition of Inspire Magazine celebrates a vibrant and successful term at The Skipton Academy, highlighting achievements across academics, the arts, sport, and wider school life. A major feature is the academy’s ambitious RSC‑linked production of Matilda: Change My Story, praised for its professionalism, energy, and creativity. The term also included a highly successful Careers Day, Geography fieldwork in Malham, strong extra‑curricular engagement, and notable successes in competitions such as the Dales Cup Swimming Gala, Rotary Young Chef Competition, and the Ogden Trust Rocket Challenge. The magazine also showcases progress in literacy interventions, KS3 art projects, and developments such as the school receiving CyberFirst status and investing in a new minibus to support enrichment and trips.

Alongside celebrating student talent and dedication, the magazine emphasises community spirit and personal growth. Fundraising efforts for Comic Relief raised nearly £500, while the Year 11 leadership team supported key events and continued preparations for their prom and exams. The “1% Better Challenge” encouraged improved attendance, and the magazine includes clear messaging about why attendance matters. Out-of-school successes, such as Elliot’s Hyrox challenge and Isaac’s achievements in amateur boxing, demonstrate students’ ambition beyond the classroom. The edition concludes by honouring students' hard work in extensive Celebration Assemblies, recognising achievement, progress, resilience, and contributions to school life across all year groups.
