Transition Time Begins Early

The Skipton Academy is excited to have officially launched its 2025 Transition Programme, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for our incoming Year 7 students. With this year's cohort being the largest in our school’s history, the planning and care going into this process are more important than ever. Transition is about more than just moving buildings—it’s about easing worries, building confidence, and starting fresh relationships.

To support a smooth and welcoming transition, members of The Skipton Academy team are visiting primary schools across the region. These visits allow students to meet familiar faces before September, making the new environment feel less intimidating. It’s a small but powerful way to help students feel seen, supported, and included.

Later this term, all incoming students will be invited to take part in a two-day visit to the academy. These days are packed with engaging lessons, team-building activities, and opportunities to explore the school. From sampling subjects to meeting future classmates, the experience is designed to help students feel excited and prepared for secondary school life.

This transition programme represents our commitment to student wellbeing and success. We are proud to welcome these new learners into our growing family and look forward to supporting them every step of the way. Their future at TSA is already off to a great start.
