Students celebrate their GCSE results

Students received their results today at The Skipton Academy and Principal Richard McManus said  “I would like to congratulate all of them on achieving fantastic results during an incredibly challenging two-year period. Our students have had to show great resilience and determination to achieve the wonderful results they did after facing the challenges of remote learning and lockdowns during their courses. 

I would also like to pay tribute to all of our staff who have been there to support them throughout and who have worked tirelessly to ensure that all our students are equipped to take the next step in their journey. 

It is also really pleasing to see that increasing numbers of our Year 11 are choosing to take up their places at Post 16 at Ilkley Grammar School which enables them to stay part of Moorlands Learning Trust and gives them a pathway to academic A levels. As a year group, they have been wonderful ambassadors for the school for the last 5 years and we wish them well in the next stage of their journey wherever that may be.”
