Wonderful Writers Win Big

We’re incredibly proud of two of our gifted young writers, Chloe Ellison and Ruby Firth, who achieved first and second place respectively in the recent Young Writers Competition. Themed around ‘Wonderful Water’, the contest challenged students to explore the topic through storytelling, poetry, and creative expression.

With entries submitted from across the region, competition was fierce—but Chloe and Ruby’s pieces stood out for their originality, vivid imagery, and emotional depth. Their writing demonstrated not only technical ability but also a strong sense of voice and creativity—qualities that captivated the judges.

These accolades are a testament to both students’ hard work and the nurturing environment provided by our English department. Chloe and Ruby took a common theme and brought it to life in unique ways, reminding us of the power of words to spark imagination and change perspectives.

Their success highlights the incredible literary talent being cultivated at The Skipton Academy. We celebrate Chloe and Ruby’s achievements and look forward to seeing how their writing journeys continue to evolve. Well done to both of you—you’ve made our school incredibly proud!
